FishingAcapulco.net is owned and operated by Jesus (Chucho) Guerrero. With more than 30 years of experience, has a stunning record in local fishing competitions. His fishing techniques and willingness to try new ways of doing things consistently produce fish when everyone else is producing excuses.
Sailfish is Acapulco's trademark, also the mahi mahi known locally as "dorado" can be caught year round.
The best time for large marlin and yellow fin tuna is during the winter and spring months, when the water cools. Sharks are numerous at any time, but are easier to locate from July to December, when they are attracted to weed lines and floating materials washed into the sea by tropical rains.
Because the Pacific coast of southern México is mountainous, the deep blue water frequented by most big game fish is usually very close to Acapulco Bay. We have caught sailfish 100 yards away from the shore! So we start fishing immediatly after leaving the bay, and fish all the way back when we return.
80% of our clientel are repeat customers or referrals from Canada, Europe, and the USA with many seasoned fisherman as well as beginners. With our equipment and a little instruction, anyone regardless of age, should be able to pull them in if they are anywhere near the size of the fish. The kids especially enjoy using hand lines to catch 4 to 5 pound bonitors which we use for bait; which often can be caught as fast as you can return the lines to the water. Our captains have no time clock to punch and our aim is to make your fishing experience the highlight of your vacation.
We have a selection of 3 boats and can offer a fishing experience tailored to your desires and budget. All are controlled from flying bridges, power by twin diesel engines and equipped with the latest navigational and safety equipment.
